Shindo Life (formerly known as Shinobi Life 2) is a game made by RELL World (also known as CaribBros). They mostly make anime games, like this one. It's based on Naruto. Is it a good game and should you play it? Let's figure this out.
First of all I wanna say that I collaborated with Trix_thedarkqueen and Juuzaki. They both know a lot about Shindo Life and often play it too. So they helped me write this review. Expect more collaborations in the future because they're epic.
Secondly, this is a Naruto game which means it's based on anime. This game got copyright striked for copying an anime so there's resemblances to the anime but every bloodline and element is renamed.
This game has many different modes, such as war mode, arena mode, edit mode (customization), play, conquest mode and many more. They're all worth checking out btw.
Mostly, when you start you wanna customize your character. So you go to edit. As soon as you get there, you gonna see different buttons such as elements, character, bloodline and ability bag. Basically for elements and bloodlines you're gonna need spins. You can either buy these, obtain these through social media codes or through farming for them in game (free rewards, quests etc) The spin system in our opinion is kinda rigged and not fun. It shows you a rare bloodline before it gives you what you want to make you rage sometimes while some of the rarer bloodlines are not even that good. Some of the common ones are good as well. Buying spins is kind of overpriced. Sometimes people spent their real money on this game or spent like 500 spins getting something they want but then end up not getting it. There is a 80 spin rarity, but it still gives you trash from time to time. The chance you get one of the common bloodlines is still pretty high. It's still annoying because when you see 80 spins rarity, you feel like "Yay finally getting something rare!" and you still end up with something you already had or with something pretty common. The chance you're getting something rare is small. Even tho they're talking about 80 spin "rarity".
This game is mostly a fighting game, yet there is still people who roleplay in it. Something that's quite annoying is that this customization is pretty large and imo that's a good thing, the only annoying thing is that sometimes it could take you hours to change clothing to look the way you want it to look. I would love to be able to save outfits to a slot and to get customized clothing like we had in Beyond, because not all clothing look good on every character and some people have a hard time picking something they like. So getting outfit slots/customized clothing would be amazing. Especially since women in this game don't really have much outfit options. Yes the majority of this game is male, which is respectable and understandable, yet there's still some girls who play this game and they deserve to be able to dress up nicely. Women don't have that much options, there's about 6 to 8 female hairs (didn't count them but it's small) and over 30 men hair. Kinda unfair. Same goes for clothing, women do not have that much options when it comes to clothing. I think there's a few items that look unisex, so for men and women, but it's just a small majority. That also brings me to the faces, the default face in this game is very manly, especially the eyes. Having eyelashes (so 2 or more options like we had in Shinobi Life) would make it better because women aren't seen as men in this game. It makes customizing characters even more fun. The amount of time people asked me whether I'm a male or female in this game is quite insane. Not that I feel offended by it, it's still annoying that people question your gender.
The next topic is about modes. To get modes (sub-abilities) or weapons (Ninja Tools) in this game, you gotta get the spawn time and then be at a specific place in a specific map to get something. Say you need to be at Ember at 5:25 AM/PM to get Ember Spirit, you gotta look for it and even be lucky that it spawns at all. Sometimes you can serverhop 20+ times before you find it and then have 3 minutes left to even obtain the mode and still fail which honestly annoys me. I think I'm not the only one with this issue tbh. Also, the time spawns are shown are at EST time, which is American time. For those in Europe, Africa, Australia, New-Zealand or Asia, this may be annoying because you have to compare your own timezone to EST time which prevents you from getting something sometimes. Not everyone has time to play this game 24/7 to get something they want. Yes, you can ask other people to get it for you but not everyone trusts a friend they met online that well enough. Honestly, if there was some kind of way to still get a mode, like paying your in-game money or even spins to get it, I would be happy with that too. This way everyone can get something they want without having to worry about spawns and timezones. Which brings me on my next point. Some bloodlines/elements are so rare it's impossible to get them. And if you're lucky enough to get them you probably wasted 2000+ spins. It's quite annoying. Not everyone wants to spent 24/7 on this game to get something fun. Which is why I'd recommend the same thing as for modes/ninja tools: Give people the option to spin for it or spend in-game money to get something. For example, 100 spins for Fate Spirit. Trust me, some people will legit spend some spins on the modes/weapons just because they don't wanna spent 24/7 on this game to get everything.
Another thing we would love to see is the customs gamepass being "revamped" now you can customize masks but wouldn't it be cool if you can actually customize robes, enter a clothing ID, customize headbands and other stuff, it would make so many people more original and creative. Now the only customization you got is the regular Akuma bloodline (regular Sharingan) and your Jinchuriki and a mask. Wouldn't it be cooler if there's so much more you can do with it? Plus people may get more attracted to this certain gamepass because of how much you can customize it.
Overall, this fighting game is pretty fun. If you know what you're doing, you can have fun in this game. If you do not care about getting all the modes or op bloodlines you can also just have fun. If you really want to get everything then prepare for rage fest. One of the fun things is that there's actually a large map to explore and there's a lot of different gamemodes too. If you're not into Naruto, never watched it or never played any Naruto game on ROBLOX at all, this game is quite fun. In my opinion, the best Naruto game around to this day.
If you are willing to spend time and sit down to grind, this game is perfect for you. This game can be a little less fun if you only wanna roleplay or hangout with your friends. We rate this game with an overal score of a 7/10. Like we said, it's fun if you really wanna grind, get strong and want everything in the game but if you only wanna hangout with friends and roleplay, then it's not that much fun because there isn't that much to do.
This game was called "Shinobi Life 2" before, which was a sequel to the famous Shinobi Life game on roblox, also made by the same creators. Sadly, I still don't feel like Shindo Life lives up to it's expectations. It's still a sequel to me and it'll stay that way. I know Shinobi Life is closed, dunno if it's forever (still hope it comes back someday in the future but I doubt it unless the developers wanna sit down and revamp it entirely) but I made some good memories on that game. Shindo Life to me will never feel like a Shinobi Life sequel, but more like a new chapter, a new game that's still pretty good.
Like we said before, adding extra customization options to the customs gamepass would make a lot of changes, also changing up the spin system/mode/weapon system would make a lot of difference to players not able to get a lot of stuff due to timezones, time or the fact it sometimes takes forever to get something they like which will probably hold back a lot of players from playing this game. Yet you can also make friends inside of this game.
We touched upon the negative in this post a lot, but there's also a lot of positive points.
People for example, who are on Discord and play this game often have communities and servers they're in with other people. Joining a Discord server for example is a great way to make new friends and to find people to play with. Some people already found their best friends on this game. Another good thing is that you're not just supposed to be a certain way. You can do whatever you want here, whether you just wanna sit down and touch logs, or do missions in order to level up, it doesn't matter. You can even lay down using the emote or just hang out with friends in a private server. There's a lot to do here. You aren't limited to certain skill you can obtain, you can obtain everything in game if you wanted to. Pretty fun!
The reason why we went with a 7/10 is because this game is still fun. There's a lot to do and we can see that this game has developers who really want to make the best anime game possible. Which we appreciate. The dedication & effort that went into this game is visible & incredible. Yet there's still some flaws and some aspects in which the game (in our opinion) can become better. We are loyal Shindo players and play this game almost every day, because we love and care about this game. It's still fun when you have friends by your side. Grinding sometimes is fun too. It's really up to you and what you enjoy.
But mostly, this game is pretty fun and you should definitely check it out. It's worth playing. If you're into pvp or like Naruto/anime. Check out this game. It's awesome.
